What is Powerhoop & Why should I take a class?
Powerhoop is a new fitness concept using a weighted hoop – giving an added new twist to an ‘old school fitness tool’. The weight and wavy inner surface slims your waist, strengthens the muscles in your abdomen and lower back, improves core stability and tones the muscles in your stomach, glutes, hips and thighs. The class is an all over body workout as the hoop is also used for upper body toning.
Exercise should be FUN and looking back to our childhood for new fitness trends is certainly a way to achieve this. Over the last few years it was all about the more ‘traditional’ hula hoops used in fitness classes but this year we have advanced onto the Powerhoop. It’s much larger than traditional hoops, which makes it easier to spin but it is also weighted so cranks up the heart rate. The wavy profile inside the hoop is great for whittling the waist as it tones and tightens the core muscles!
Not only is it effective, but it is also fun and at only 40 minutes per class it's energetic and fast. The time goes by so quickly you won't even realize you're exercising!
